Esau’s Home-Grown Sweet Corn began in Desha County, Arkansas, near Dumas in 1990 by Chester and Carol Esau as a family business.
The first 20-acre crop was planted that spring and taken to farmer’s markets in Dumas and Pine Bluff.
It didn’t take long for word-of-mouth to bring people to the farm to buy corn.
Even by the end of that first harvest, so many people were coming to the field to buy sweet corn that there was no time or need to go to the cities to sell.
In the following years, as the clientele increased, the acreage also expanded to accommodate the growing customer demand.
This trend has continued and each year we enjoy the friendship of our many loyal customers.
