“Grandad and Nana” Brown bought the farm just after the turn of the century in the early 1900s.
They opened the fields to the public for “Pick Your Own” strawberries during the depression.
They had nine children and their eighth child, Noel followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming the next “Farmer Brown” as well as being a full time fireman here in Agawam.
Noel and Dorothy had seven children, many hands were needed to keep up with the growing farm!
Noel grew the PYO to include Blueberries, Raspberries, Apples, Tomatoes, Peppers, and more, as well as greenhouses filled with annual flowers and tomatoes.
