Jackson’s Farm Market was established in 1970 when Don Jackson and his wife, Lee, planted 300 strawberry plants on Eleazer Road in Caesarcreek Township.
The family farm grew into a pick your own strawberry farm with 15 acres of strawberries.
Other crops, including muskmelon, tomatoes, sweet corn, and watermelon, were added.
Don and Lee’s children, as well as neighbors and extended family, worked on the farm and helped sell the produce on Eleazer Road.
Eventually additional acreage on US 68 was purchased and the harvest was sold from a wagon and a corncrib there as well as at farm market locations throughout Greene County.
