Milky Way Farm

Milky Way Farm has been home to the Matthews family for four generations.

We’ve lived here, farmed the land, and raised milk cows.

We’ve hosted school groups to educate children as they experience our working farm, and we’ve hosted farm-to-table dinners to remind adults how great it is to eat wholesome food.

28 years ago, Sam and Melba Matthews decided to open the farm one month a year to anyone who wanted to walk to the field and pick their own pumpkins.

In October, every Saturday or Sunday, rain or shine, you can come to Milky Way Farm, head for the fields, and look for your pumpkin.

It’s now become a tradition for grandparents, parents, and children to meet at the farm, walk to the fields, pick their pumpkins, ride on the hay wagon, walk the maze, and buy ice cream.

When customers asked whether the ice cream was made from our cow’s milk, we decided it should be — and we established the Chester Springs Creamery.
